Hey there, I'm Sam Bannon.
I create paintings that employ whimsy and ambiguity to dislodge viewer’s mental scripts and encourage a deeper, curiosity-fueled experience of looking. I use projection mapping technology to imbue my work with light, movement, and subtle magic.
I’m interested in the science of awe and the necessity of play in our lives. I’m fascinated by immersive, themed environments and how they are conduits for playful curiosity, attentive engagement, and potentially transformational awe experiences.
